It's my last day with the PR team at CG today and I can honestly say I have learnt so much. Compared to other work placements I have done previously, the past three weeks at CG have taught me more than the rest of them put together.
I’ve been really busy over the past few weeks and pretty much straight away I was invited along to a big press conference for Red Funnel on the Isle of Wight, where the company revealed the news about its Red Jet 6.
If you think that's impressive, in the same week I went back to the Island for a day-long public consultation in East Cowes. It was a very exciting first week.
After that, the next two weeks were spent working on press releases, blog posts, writing articles, generating social media content, taking part in meetings and so much more. What could be better than that? Well, I went for a steak on a Friday evening with the whole team. That's what.
Looking back to my first day here, I definitely feel much more confident in my telephone and writing skills. Seeing my work online feels great and I can now make phone calls to clients and the media without writing out a script each time. Now that's an achievement!
To top off an already amazing experience, I was invited along to the private viewing of Hampshire Cultural Trust’s DINOFEST 2015 yesterday evening at Southampton’s SeaCity museum. It was such a good evening, and I felt quite important when the photographer at the event remembered my name from speaking to me the day before.
I have done so much over the last three weeks at CG that from just looking through my notebook, there is no way I could write it all here!
