We’re always talking about marketing communications from every angle, but this Cowes Week Carswell Gould took to the skies to see the action from a totally different angle – at the top of a 100ft yacht mast!

To fundraise in aid of UKSA, creative director Ed Gould agreed to be hoisted to the top of an ocean-going Farr65 yacht for the ‘Boss up a Mast’ challenge with only one rule: to take a selfie at the top and encourage everyone he knows to donate.

Never one to back away from a challenge, Ed scaled the mast and captured the whole experience on live-streaming app Periscope for a rapturous global audience and a mass of visitors gathered on dry land.

We’re still taking donations for Boss up a Mast, and all the money goes directly to UKSA. UKSA is a youth charity that believes in the power of the sea to make a change; helping young people to transform their lives for the better.

At Carswell Gould we’re just as passionate about the sea and we really believe in the work UKSA is doing with young people from the Isle of Wight and across the UK.

Please donate here to help UKSA reach its fundraising target for Cowes Week, and check out some of our highlights from Ed’s trip up the mast below:
