Opened by the prestigious 1st Batallion Coldstream Guards Corps of Drums, the 2011 PSP Southampton Boat Show was another huge success. Carswell Gouldʼs client, PSP, one of the UKʼs fastest-growing freight forwarders, was the title sponsor of the PSP Southampton Boat Show for the fourth year running.

Now in itʼs 43rd year, the show attracted 111,017 visitors, averaging at 11,000 visitors per day over the 10 day period. Sales were also very positive, highlighting the success of the show. Murray Ellis, Managing Director of National Boat Shows said “The new elements to the Show, as well as great Show highlights, have left 2011 on a high in a time of continuing and extremely challenging economic conditions. The atmosphere and dedication by all those involved is unparalleled and something certainly to be proud of doing.”

Big news was the premiere of CGʼs GORE-TEX® Arctic Challenge film which was shown to two groups of VIP guests in the PSP hospitality suite. The film tells the story of a 6 day voyage from Scotland to the Arctic Circle in RIBs (rigid inflatable boats). Hugo Montgomery-Swan, Challenge leader, opened the viewing with a talk detailing the intrepid adventure that was experienced by the 8 person crew, which included CGʼs own Ed Gould. Popcorn was handed out and the drinks flowed as clients, friends and media mixed at the exclusive event.

Ed Gould said “It was a huge success and a great way to thank our clients and friends for their ongoing support”.
