Unless you've spent the majority of the last decade in a cave, the chances are you've heard of YouTube. You might think that this is just a place for people with too much time on their hands to post videos of themselves doing stupid things, but it is used around the world by businesses as a way to promote themselves.
The beauty of YouTube is that it is a quick and easy way to get yourself a web video presence. You can set up an account and then simply embed the video on your own website, as well as it being on YouTube itself.
Moving images really bring to life your product or service and are a great way to channel a new audience. For example, if you run a plumbing company and someone types in “how to fix a tap” into YouTube and your video pops up, they're going to see your company's name in front of them.
When it comes to PR, video is another way of getting your message across. Most media websites - newspapers included - now carry video and it adds an extra dimension to your PR. So the next time you're doing something that you might normally just take a picture of, think about video too.
