There are plenty of reasons to travel to the Isle of Wight in September with events for classical music enthusiasts and green-fingered people alike.

Red Funnel is sponsoring two events on the Island taking place over 4, 5 and 6 August, making it a jam-packed weekend of entertainment for anyone making the trip to the Island.

The Classic Isle Music Festival brings together like-minded individuals with a passion for classical, opera and choral music in the spectacular surrounds of Northwood House. A must for classical music lovers, the festival will unite local and international performers together on the Island for the first time. The London Mozart Players, Amy Dickson, Sean Shibe, Celeste and many others will perform moving classical favourites over two days and three nights on a central stage on the beautiful lawn of Northwood House.

Guests of this exclusive and limited ticketed event will be able to purchase hampers of luxury food items and wine to enjoy while they relax on the lawn. Tickets start at £25 and are available from http://www.redfunnel.co.uk/classicisle.

Taking place the same weekend, Wolverton Manor Garden Fair features over 120 Island and mainland exhibitors that represent a wide range of gardening and country arts and crafts from around the UK. In its 14th year the garden fair is expecting over 7,000 visitors to the stunning Jacobean house and gardens. Along with the traditional fare expected for keen gardeners, there is entertainment to suit all ages, including Elizabethan dancing performed by re-enactors.

The garden fair has expanded to become a celebration of the countryside and wildlife, with a conservation tent showing bats and red squirrels, poultry from the Poultry Club and a variety of animals including alpacas, falcons and dogs.

Tickets are free for children aged under 14 and £6 for adults on the gate or £5 in advance from the County Press Shop. For more information call 01983 525282.

Red Funnel’s marketing and communications director, Jonathan Green, said:

"We're delighted to support such great events on the Island and to have two occurring on the same weekend will give even more people reason to travel to the Isle of Wight. The Wolverton Manor Garden Fair is a longstanding feature in the Isle of Wight calendar that has raised an extraordinary amount of money for Age UK over the years.

"We're also excited by the first ever Classic Isle Music Festival, which will bring world-class culture to the Island. We hope it is the first of many."
