6 November 2015 – Red Funnel is bringing the Cowes Christmas Festival back to Cowes Yacht Haven on 19 and 20 December to celebrate the best quality produce, art and crafts produced on the Isle of Wight.

The Cowes Christmas Festival is part of Cowes Food Shows which has been sponsored and produced by the ferry company for the past three years. The event is free to attend and visitors from the mainland can take advantage of a special 2 for £12 offer travelling on the Red Jet.

This Christmas extravaganza will showcase the very best of Isle of Wight produce, from organically grown tomatoes and oak smoked garlic to delicious dairy ice cream. Talented local chefs and home-cooking experts will take to the stage to demonstrate tasty recipes and professional techniques at the interactive cookery theatre and spectators can then taste what they produce.

The festival will also feature a great choice of Isle of Wight arts and crafts, just in time for last minute Christmas shopping. The exhibitor list is still growing but includes over 50 stalls already. There is fantastic festive entertainment and a Santa’s grotto for the younger visitors.

Jonathan Green, marketing and communications director at Red Funnel, said:

"We are delighted to bring back the Cowes Christmas Festival for the third year in a row. It's incredibly important to showcase the high-quality, delicious food and drink that comes from local producers. We know how great it is because we ourselves champion local produce and source a large quantity of our ingredients from the local area.

"Teamed with a festive atmosphere and the best selection of local arts, crafts and gifts, it's the perfect place to pick up a present or a special addition to your Christmas dinner table."

Red Funnel champions the use of produce from the Isle of Wight and was awarded a Wight Marque Gold Standard from the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society this year for its commitment to sourcing locally 60 per cent of food and drink used onboard its ferries.
