The new set of analytical tools can provide information as to how many users have pinned content from their site to Pinterest, how many users have visited those pins, and how many users have been referred to a site from Pinterest.
The tools are only available to use with business profiles.
To get started with analytics simply follow these steps:
1) Change your profile to the ‘new look’.
2) Make sure you have verified your website. Find out more about how to do that here.
3) Once your site is verified, in the top right menu there will be an analytics option for you to click.
4) Start exploring! You can change the date range to see the grow within your Pinterest account.
The design changes are subtle. The images in the news feed are larger, and profile pages have been condensed to show more pins in less space. On the right side of the page, users will get a series of small thumbnails showing other pins from the same board. It lets users browse collections of pins, without leaving the page they’re on. There is also a handy back button so users don’t loose the original pin/place they were coming from.
Top tips from Carswell Gould:
1) Name your boards something fun and descriptive, as this is a great way of letting your users know what you’re all about.
2) Be active and go pin crazy! It’s all about driving content, comments and likes. Repin other people’s pins and re-pinning the best content to your own boards.
Promotion - It’s important to promote your pins and activity through your other social channels and also on your website.
