This summer, the Houses of Parliament played host to two separate launch events for exciting new services from our clients: National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and SETsquared.
We joined NPL as it launched its exciting new Graphene Characterisation Service in partnership with University of Manchester. Graphene is the world's first 2D material, the thickness of a single atom and one million times thinner than human hair.
NPL met with MP Graham Stuart to discuss how this British innovation will further revolutionise global manufacturing. The day cemented a crucial step in the commercialisation of graphene and 2D materials with MP Graham Stuart commenting: "This service will provide the missing link between academia and industry and will revolutionise how graphene is commercialised in years to come."
NPL’s new characterisation service provides accurate measurements of the structural and chemical properties of graphene and graphene flakes. In a nutshell, it can tell you how good your graphene really is. Supporting NPL closely during the run up to this important event, we worked with them to create all the marketing communications assets for the launch.
How we supported the event:
We also paid another trip to the capital city to help the global number one university business incubator, SETsquared, launch its new £5m Scale-Up Programme at the House of Commons. Aimed at supporting the most innovative high-growth companies across the South of England, the programme tackles the issue of how to ensure more UK tech start-ups develop to become major forces in their field.
Over 20 member companies from SETsquared were there to engage with parliamentarians and tell them about the challenges of starting or scaling a tech business in the UK. We were on hand at the event to assist with press liaison, live tweet, conduct interviews with delegates for use on social media and write post-event press releases.
