The Carswell Gould team came face-to-face with a princess on Monday (April 20) as they attended a special event with HRH, The Princess Royal. Gill, Laura and Tom McLean were on hand at City Training's Apprenticeship Presentation Ceremony where Princess Anne was guest of honour.
The Princess Royal spoke to employers, apprentices and City Training staff, handed out special awards and made a speech about apprenticeships. Laura, Gill and Tom were right in the thick of the action as they organised photography and press coverage.
Gill, who has co-ordinated the press for royal visits by Prince Charles and Princess Diana in the past, said: "It was an absolute pleasure to work at such a prestigious event. The Princess Royal was marvellous as she took plenty of time speaking to the apprentices and was genuinely interested in what they had to say."
Tom, who was taking photographs on the day, added: "It was great being right in the centre of the action and it's certainly something I'll remember for a long time."
Laura, whose job it was to ensure the event got plenty of media coverage, said: "Having The Princess Royal at the Apprenticeship Presentation Ceremony is a credit to City Training and everything that it does for businesses and apprentices in the region. We've had some great coverage for the event already and it's great seeing even more come in."
Earlier this year, Gill and Laura co-ordinated the press for another big event when Gordon Brown visited City College in Southampton. Carswell Gould's press releases on his visit generated masses of media coverage for the college.
