When the Port of Southampton wanted to commemorate 175 years of rich history, it turned to the region's leading communications agency Carswell Gould.
The award winning team at Carswell Gould produced the landmark 96-page hardback book detailing the incredible history of the country’s most important port.
Starting with the famous painting of the laying of the foundation stone and running through the early days of the port, classic liners to modern giants as well as the port's role in various conflicts, the book is a unique pictorial record.
Just 1,000 copies of the book were printed, with Southampton staff of port operator Associated British Ports each being given a copy to mark the milestone.
Carswell Gould Creative Director Ed Gould said: "It's a real honour to help mark such an important event. We are all really proud of the result, which is of the highest quality and serves as a fantastic testament to this great south coast institution."
Port of Director Doug Morrison said: "I am really impressed with the book. It's a fascinating glimpse into the past 175 years of the Port of Southampton. Carswell Gould has delivered exactly what was needed and I'm sure this will be a treasured official souvenir of this remarkable anniversary."
