By Gill Gould

I was so sad to hear Henri Strzelecki MBE died on Boxing Day and so very, very proud to have known him. I think the world will have stood still for a few minutes for many people when they heard the news.

To me Henri is an icon of the marine industry. Always warm and welcoming and what a joy when he sang to me coming up the aisles at boat shows!

In fact, Henri is an inspiration to me because, as account director on the Henri Lloyd advertising account when I was MD at WSA before starting up CG, I learned from his example how important it is to recognise that all people should be equally treated - and to always treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. A hard example to follow, but it is Henri I quote as the example to others.

I will also never forget the many celebrations when Henri stood behind each guest's chair and introduced them faultlessly. He was truly a people person.

My sincere condolences go to Paul and Martin and their families.

There is a great obituary for Henri on the BMF website. Do read it
