The sweat-inducing feat was the idea of Southampton-based marketing communications agency Carswell Gould, which launched its new offering, CG Adventures, at the show to its clients and the press.
The event, which was hosted in the PSP Hospitality Lounge, saw business leaders from the likes of Grant Thornton, Ordnance Survey and City College Southampton take their part in walking the 5,895 metres that make up Mount Kilimanjaro.
Ed Gould, creative director at Carswell Gould and who climbed the real Mount Kilimanjaro earlier in the year for The Rose Road Association, said:
“CG Adventures is about marketing success through taking action, and there’s no better way to kick things off than raising £3000 for a great charity in our very special mini adventure. So far, we’ve raised enough money for more than ten nights of respite for families on short breaks, and we want to raise even more.”
The Rose Road Association is a local charity providing a range of services, support and opportunities for children and young people with disabilities across Hampshire.
Ed added:
“It was a pleasure to see other people go through what I had to on the climb! It goes to show that when people get up and take action, it makes for a much more interesting day out.”
