Google+ Pages open for business

After last night’s launch of the new Google+ Pages, CG investigates how its clients could benefit.

Google launched Google+ Pages last night, developed with a focus on allowing businesses and organisations to build profiles similar to those on Facebook.

It means that organisations - from local businesses to global brands - can now develop meaningful connections and relationships with other organisations and individuals using Google+.

It is a big step forward as so far the social network has been focusing on connecting individuals, rather than businesses.

The launch was broadcasted live last night and demonstrated the benefits of Pages over Facebook to businesses.

CG’s lead web developer, Rob McCann, said: “These benefits, in my opinion, include more structured integration with Google, providing a potential for better Google SEO via friend recommendations. In addition, the hangouts section could provide interesting opportunities for hosting webinars and online discussions.”

“We’re always researching the latest technology at CG, in order to help keep our clients one step ahead. In the coming days we’ll be investigating how this new technology will best fit into our clients’ social strategies, web integrations and their overall marketing mix.”
