Stewart Dunn, former managing director of Newsquest Hampshire, has been appointed by CG to spearhead its ambitious growth plans as managing director.
Stewart, who has worked in media all his life, will take a lead role in developing the agency, as well as its portfolio of national, international and regional clients.
Gill Gould, managing partner of Carswell Gould, said: “We have highly regarded Stewart’s business acumen and media expertise for many years so jumped at the chance to bring him on board. His experience and wealth of connections will be of huge benefit not just to us, but to our clients too.”
Stewart added: “I am delighted to be joining Carswell Gould in what is a very exciting year for the business. Not only is it celebrating 20 years but it is also planning its next stage of growth, which I am very much looking forward to being a part of. My experience in media, both print and online, will assist greatly in these growth plans as well as being of real use to clients.”
Commenting on Carswell Gould’s ambitions for the future creative director Ed Gould said: “We have a small but perfectly formed team, made up of experts in each individual area of marketing communications. Going forward we are increasingly working with bigger and bigger clients, both nationally and internationally and this is where we see our growth coming from in the next five years.”
Stewart has been in newspaper publishing and printing all of his working life and was awarded an honorary doctorate by Southampton Solent University in 2011 for his contribution to the media industry.
During his time as managing director of Newsquest Hampshire he lent his expertise to many of the county’s business groups and organisations, taking senior roles with Southampton and Fareham Chamber of Commerce, Winchester Business Improvement District, Hampshire Economic Partnership and Business Solent (then Business Southampton).
