Red Funnel and Robin Hill's Squawk Birds and Squawkettes invaded Southampton and West Quay last Friday, bringing colour and excitement with them to the High Street, Above Bar and the shopping centre.
The cheeky creatures are native to Robin Hill and are always looking for mischief. They escaped the Isle of Wight via a Red Funnel ferry and were on the look out for a lucky family to win their competition.
Jonathan Green, marketing and communications director at Red Funnel, said:
"We don't normally transport such exotic creatures over to the mainland but we had to make an exception for the Squawk Birds and Squawkettes. They brought so much colour and joy to the vessel and when we heard about their plan to bring a lucky family over to the Island for a day trip, we just had to get involved and offer up a free return ferry trip."
The winner will be notified via e-mail on Friday, 4th September, and will be given an exciting prize - a whole day pass to the unique amusement park Robin Hill where they will be able to visit the birds again, and this time, in their natural habitat. As if that wasn't enough, Red Funnel added a free return ferry ticket to ensure a stress-free day for the parents and their young ones.
