He may not have a back catalogue of award-winning movies and a house in the Hollywood Hills, but CG’s Tom gave Johnny Depp a run for his money as he donned a pirate outfit and posed for the cameras recently.
Tom, CG’s designer, proved that he’ll go to any lengths for his clients as he dressed up as Long John Silver and modelled for the Nuffield Theatre’s poster for its forthcoming production of Treasure Island.
After a great deal of pouting, posing, and even an appearance of the famous “blue steel” Tom set about designing and artworking the poster, in which he also appears at Jim the Cabin Boy.
Tom said: “It was quite strange being in the campaign image as well as designing it but it was great fun! I always look forward to creating the artwork for the Nuffield’s productions because, like us, they have a lot of imagination and creativity and they’re willing to experiment with interesting graphical styles.
“For this campaign we’ve pulled on the idea of old ‘B movie’ posters and the result is fun and striking.”
The campaign image is due to appear across Southampton in coming weeks and months.
CG has been working with the Nuffield Theatre for around a decade and has provided design for its Open Stages programme, 2012 brochure relaunch, annual reports and several other show posters.
