COWES Yacht Haven is supporting Isle of Wight businesses by offering them reduced rental of retail units during Cowes Week. The marina has pledged its support to island firms by offering them a 10 per cent discount on hiring marquees to trade from at the world-famous sailing event, where it will be business as usual, despite the lack of a title sponsor.
Manager of Cowes Yacht Haven, Steve Cole, pointed out that it gave a great opportunity for local businesses to get their name in front of the thousands of visitors expected to flock to Cowes Week from July 31 to August 8.
He said: "We are very keen to support the Isle of Wight's economy and local businesses as much as we can. During these tough economic times it is important that we all support one another and one of the ways we will be doing this is by offering Island businesses a 10 per cent discount on retail units for Cowes Week. We are delighted to report that our marina is already fully booked for the week. The lack of a title sponsor means there are great opportunities within our site for other companies now. It also gives companies who are working on a smaller budget the chance to have their messages heard."
As ever, Cowes Yacht Haven will continue to be at the heart of activities during the week and is hosting a very busy social calendar for this sailing highlight of the year. With more than 100,000 spectators expected to attend and enjoy the huge choice of sailing and social events, there is a very special atmosphere unique to Cowes Week. And with thousands of competitors, taking part in hundreds of events, it promises to be another busy week in Cowes.
