A performance from Mungo Jerry, an array of waterside shops, bars and restaurants and an appearance from Doctor and the Medics are just some of the activities taking place at Cowes Yacht Haven during Cowes Week 2010.
The venue, right at the heart of the international regatta, is best known for putting on top-class shoreside entertainment and created waves earlier this year when it announced entry would be free for every night other than firework night (for which entry is £10).
It is the first time in many years entry has been free and means visitors can access the high-quality entertainment and pop up shops and bars - including the Piper Heidsieck champagne bar and Pimms tent - without having to pay at the gate.
A big name hitting Cowes Yacht Haven this Cowes Week is Mungo Jerry, who will headline The Gill Stage on Friday, August 6. His performance will mark the 40th anniversary of his hit song, In The Summertime.
On Sunday, August 1 The Gill Stage will play host to an 80s themed party, with guests including I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star, David Van Day, Pineapple Dance Studios' LEKIDDO - Lord of The Lobsters! and R&B star, Aaron Soul.
The following day Cowes Yacht Haven will welcome the world's number one Michael Jackson tribute, Navi, who will perform an electrifying set.
Thursday, August 5 will mark the return of the Cowes Week Crew Ball. The party night, held in Cowes Yacht Haven's Events Centre, will feature music from seven-piece soul, funk and disco band, The Beat Makers and Stan Terry, the UK's finest Rod Stewart Tribute act. Tickets to the event are £20 and include drink and a 'crew pot supper' on the balcony.
The next night the Events Centre will be awash with sand as Cowes Week's biggest indoor beach party moors up. The Electric 80's party will transform the venue into a tropical paradise with club lights, lasers, a cocktail bar and BBQ. The UK's biggest Wham and Duran Duran tribute, will take to the stage to perform a number of hits. Standard tickets are £12 and VIP entry is £20.
This year's Chamber Ball - held annually at Cowes Yacht Haven during Cowes Week, will be the biggest ever as it celebrates 100 years of the Isle of Wight Chamber Commerce. Taking place on Wednesday, August 4 from 7.30pm, the event will feature a five-course meal, fine wine and world-class entertainment. Tickets are £99 + VAT per person or £950 for a table of 10.
Entertainment on The Gill Stage - sponsored by Gill - will be hosted by BBC Radio Solent's Alex Dyke, who will broadcast his radio show live from the stage both Saturdays.
Ian Gregory, said: "We've worked incredibly hard to put together a great line up this year and I'm confident that visitors are going to have a fantastic time here."
