Staff at Carswell Gould welcomed home the troops as they marched past their office during their homecoming parade on Thursday (October 22). We had the pleasure of being in the centre of the action as the 17 Port and Maritime Regiment made its way through the Bargate showered in ticker tape and applause from the crowds lining the street. The CG team came out of their Bargate House office to join in as soldiers proudly marched on up Above Bar. The 17 Port and Maritime Regiment returned recently from Afghanistan and it was the first time the regiment had exercised its rights after being awarded the honour of the Freedom of Southampton several years ago. The events began earlier at Mayflower Park, where colonel-in-chief of the regiment, HRH the Princess Royal, Princess Anne, was in attendance.
