CG shared its networking skills with students at Southampton Solent University this month, as part of its pledge to support the next generation of marketeers.

Managing partner, Ed Gould, and associate partner, Laura Downton, gave their top tips on how to effectively network face to face and through social media.

Feedback from the students described the talk as 'excellent, interactive and engaging'.

Ed, a visiting fellow of Southampton Solent University, said: "It was rewarding to see the huge improvement in the students' networking abilities in just a few hours. They started the evening very much in their own groups and by the end were confidently holding conversations with senior members of university staff."

Laura, whose education-related clients include City College Southampton and SETsquared, added: "Networking was a skill I had to work hard on at the start of my career, which is why it's good that Southampton Solent University is giving its students a head start and teaching them early. Being able to hold a conversation in a real business situation is such an important ability to have, even in the age of social networking."
