CG gets a Taste of Adventure with Bear Grylls

CG got a taste of adventure on Friday as the team worked with Bear Grylls to launch RIBEX2010, Europe's top powerboat show.

Gill, Laura and Graham went to Portsmouth to handle the show launch, which saw Bear Grylls and RIBEX organiser, Hugo Montgomery-Swan, race each other across the Solent in RIBS.

The CG team organised waterside press interviews with Bear and Hugo and filmed the event, before jumping on a RIB and following the race to the finishing line at Cowes Yacht Haven.

Gill said: "The race proved to be a great start to a fantastic show. This year's event was a great success - with exhibitors selling products left, right and centre. The addition of a music festival on the Saturday night really made it a show to remember and needless to say racing across the Solent was an exciting experience!"

CG handled all the press and public relations for RIBEX and its sister music festival, RIBFEST. Among the activities CG organised were:

• A music competition to find a local support act for RIBFEST
• Getting Bear Grylls to race Hugo across the Solent to launch the show
• Media partnership with radio stations
• Interviews with Bear Grylls and RIBFEST headliner, Seth Lakeman, for press
• A steady stream of business, entertainment, news and sailing stories for the media
• Use of social media to promote RIBFEST and live Twitter coverage of the show
