Just two of the technologies CG came face-to-face with as it attended the UK’s biggest investment showcase yesterday (Nov 27).
CG was at Accelerating Growth to deliver media relations, social engagement and event support to its client SETsquared.
CG has been working closely with SETsquared all year to make the event a success, building up to the big day with a crescendo of PR activity. The hard work paid off, with more than 200 investors, 350 delegates and a slew of MPs turning up.
CG delivered big names to the event, securing journalists from the Financial Times, Guardian, BBC and Techworld on the day. Its social media work in the lead up to the event also directly resulted in Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise, Matthew Hancock MP, attending the event.
Accelerating Growth was a landmark event to mark the 10th Anniversary of the SETsquared Partnership, Europe’s number one university business incubator.
The collaboration between five of the leading UK research universities - Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey - has helped more than 1,000 businesses raise over £1 billion during its ten-year history. SETsquared is designed to develop new businesses from university research and support early-stage technology companies with high growth potential.
Ed Gould, creative director at CG, said: “We were over the moon with the response to the event. Our proven mixture of traditional and digital communications resulted in some big names attending the event, from the worlds of politics and media.
“Our social media engagement programme in particular has helped to dramatically increase online engagement with SETsquared and our Thunderclap for the event alone had a social reach of more than 105,000.”
