CG has completed work on a new look website for the prestigious Women’s Prize for Fiction – known from 1996 to 2012 as the Orange Prize for Fiction.

CG was asked to develop a new website for the Prize after the agency’s Creative Director Ed Gould worked with Martha Lane Fox, entrepreneur, UK digital champion, founder of lastminute.com and member of the Women’s Prize board.

The hugely anticipated 2013 longlist was announced today - Wednesday 13th March - and is displayed in full on the new website www.womensprizeforfiction.co.uk

CG’s web developer Andy Waterman explained the new online presence reflects the Prize in a fresh light as it moves into a new era.

Andy said: “For the first time, the full longlist, shortlist and winner archives are showcased in one place, allowing users to see how influential these works from female novelists have been since the Prize was launched in 1996."

CG also helped to make the most of the Women’s Prize’s new partnership with Google by integrating social media into the new website.

Ed Gould said: “Carswell Gould is delighted to be associated with this prestigious award. We took up the challenge to develop its new website to a tight deadline and delivered on time with great results. We are proud to have surpassed our client’s objectives and wish the Women’s Prize for Fiction every success for the future.”

The Women’s Prize for Fiction recognised Carswell Gould’s achievements, with Prize Director, Harriet Hastings saying: “We all enjoyed working with Carswell Gould – we gave them a tight brief and a short timeline and they delivered brilliantly.”

The Women’s Prize for Fiction is the UK’s only annual book award for fiction written by a woman.  Now in its eighteenth year, the Prize  celebrates excellence, accessibility and originality in writing by women in English from throughout the world.

The winner receives a cheque for £30,000 and a limited edition bronze, known as a ‘Bessie’, created and donated by artist Grizel Niven.

Novelist and playwright Kate Mosse, is Co-Founder and Chair of the Women’s Prize for FictionBoard. The judging panel for the 2013 Prize includes actress Miranda Richardson (Chair), journalist Rachel Johnson, broadcaster Razia Iqbal, feminist writer Natasha Walter and novelist Jojo Moyes.

The shortlist will be announced on 16th April. The Women’s Prize for Fiction 2013 will be awarded on 5th June at the Royal Festival Hall, London.
