Ed announced on Monday (July 14) that he will be leaving for Tanzania, Africa, on Friday (July 18) to begin his five day ascent of the continent’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.
Joining him on the trek will be his friend Andrew Robinson who works in the city.
The expedition will see them trek for some 50 hours, braving and battling the elements, in his quest to reach the 5,895m summit.
The team are hoping that the challenge will raise awareness and money for The Rose Road Association, a local charity providing a range of services, support and opportunities for children and young people with disabilities across the county.
CG has fostered a close relationship with the charity through collaborations over the years and works on various design, social media and research projects for the cause.

The trek will also mark the launch of ‘CG Adventures’, CG’s latest service that helps brands and organisations break the mould of traditional marketing through adventures.
CG will ensure that people at home will be kept up to date via social media channels Twitter and Facebook, where Ed will feed video, photography and live updates back from the thick of the action.
It’s not the first time Ed has put his body and mind to the test for his clients. In 2011 he became one of the first people to travel from Scotland to the Arctic Circle by a 6m RIB (rigid inflatable boat) as a part of a project for GORE-TEX®.
