CARSWELL Gould's newest PR Account Executive, Laura Downton, swapped her telephone for a microphone on Saturday night as she performed with her band, Afrodisiac.
Laura, who spends her days making sure all Carswell Gould's clients are hitting the headlines, spends her spare time singing with a very successful girl band.
The group, which consists of Laura (23) and friends Sammi (20) and Charmaine (20), first hit the nation's TV screens two years ago when they impressed Simon Cowell and his fellow judges on The X Factor with their mix of soul and pop. The tuneful trio got resounding yeses from all four judges at their first audition and made it as far as the final 20 at The X Factor boot camp with cover versions of Basement Jaxx's Do Your Thing and Debelah Morgan's Dance With Me.
Laura, Charmaine and Sammi love performing together and past gigs have included headlining Thorpe Park, supporting R&B star Lemar and singing at London's celebrity hotspot, Chinawhite nightclub.
Laura said: "It's great having a double life, I feel like Carswell Gould's very own Hannah Montana! When I'm performing at gigs I'm always networking and meeting new people which is great for our clients. Singing is such fun and the best way to let off steam at the end of a busy week."
