Carswell Gould has been shortlisted for a regional PR award for its work with Southampton City College.
The city centre marcomms agency is one of only five companies shortlisted for CIPR Wessex's PRide media relations award and the team will find out if it has won at a glitzy dinner at the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton on October 29. If Carswell Gould wins at regional level, it could go on to win a national award.
The company has been shortlisted in the media relations category for its work with Southampton City College. Since November 2008 Carswell Gould has dramatically improved the college's media relations and coverage, achieving the college's objectives of raising awareness of its successes.
Managing Director, Gill Gould, said: "I'm absolutely over the moon that we've been shortlisted for this prestigious award. City College has gone from a shrinking media violet to a venus fly trap as print, broadcast and online media now shout about its successes. Being shortlisted really is testament to all the hard work put in by the team here and at City College."

There were 1,488 entries this year and The PRide Awards is the only awards scheme which showcases the best PR work being carried out across the UK regions and nations. The judging process is rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners.
Media intelligence company Precise is this year's headline sponsor and is joined by Goddard Gadd, Redbrand and PRCA as national sponsors. PRWeek is the national media sponsor.
