HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal joined council officials, arts enthusiasts and local children to celebrate the official opening of Cornerstone, South Oxfordshire's exciting new Arts Centre in Didcot.
The multi-million pound landmark building has a distinctive and contemporary look on the outside and a lively and vibrant feel inside, with its 278-seat auditorium designed for a magical mix of music, drama, dance and comedy. In addition, it has exhibition and studio space, a café, bar and restaurant.
Carswell Gould was originally chosen following a multi-way pitch to name the centre, deliver the brand strategy, create the identity and identify the creative direction. The work it has carried out in partnership with Cornerstone, further cements this full service agency as a power player in the field of arts and culture communications.
Carswell Gould's Creative Director, Ed Gould, was extremely pleased to be a part of this project and to represent the agency at the opening, which was judged to be a resounding success. “This part of my work makes me very proud indeed”, commented Ed Gould at the opening. He continued: “The work we have undertaken with Cornerstone, has, in a small way, helped set it up for a truly bright future, delivering vital arts and culture to an area of the country which will benefit hugely from this exciting organisation."
Carswell Gould recently supplied way finding and external signs for Cornerstone,. The main sign which employs colour changing-led technology has been a huge success and really helped Cornerstone, make its mark on the town centre. Ed Gould continued: “To be able to see the creative strategy come to life is fantastic. The fact that we were asked to help produce the royal opening signs really was the icing on the cake. Cornerstone, looks set to be an outstanding success and is bound to attract first-class, national acts as well as the best of local talent. All of us are looking forward to seeing Cornerstone, go from strength to strength."
