IT may have been cold outside but the team at Carswell Gould got a taste of summer as they worked hard with the marketing team at City College to make the exciting Caribbean-themed Student Awards Evening a night to remember.
Gill, Amanda and Laura joined around 220 guests at St Mary's Stadium as the college honoured more than 40 of its hard-working students. It was an extra special night for Carswell Gould as Managing Director, Gill, handed over the Carswell Gould Award for Achievement to winner, Alma Rimdekiene.
Gill said: "We are absolutely delighted to sponsor this award. Alma's story has been an inspiration to us all here and it was a very great pleasure to meet her and her family. We are very proud to have worked with City College for many years. Their achievements for their students are phenomenal and their success this year has been fantastic."
The awards evening had a Caribbean theme this year and Levi Roots, who shot to fame while successfully pitching his Reggae Reggae Sauce on BBC's Dragons' Den, was the perfect guest speaker. The reggae musician and entrepreneur provided a motivational speech for guests, which included Sheriff of Southampton, Councillor Elizabeth Mizon. Levi also handed out awards, spoke to students and sang his Reggae Reggae Sauce song. Harbour Lights steel band made sure the evening had an exotic feel and catering students from Southampton City College injected a Caribbean flavour as they provided food on the night.
