CARSWELL Gould designer, Tom McLean, has had his work featured on a prestigious typography website. Tom, who spends his days designing everything from logos to brochures for Carswell Gould's clients, was honoured after researchers from Typography Served thought his work was so good they featured it on their website.

Typography Served finds the best and most interesting examples of typography and photography on the internet and showcases them.

The work they featured of Tom's was about the weather and how it affected artists and their work. Tom produced words made from slate and wood and put them into landscapes that were affected by the weather and influenced certain artists. The words he created had relevance to the landscape and weather conditions they were situated in. He then photographed the words and used them to promote an exhibition of the artists who were influenced by the weather like Andy Goldsworthy, Ben Nicholson, Turner and Constable.

Tom, who recently photographed HRH The Princess Royal for Carswell Gould, said: "It's nice to get recognition for the work I've produced. I love Typography Served so to have my own work featured on there is amazing."

Ed Gould, Carswell Gould's creative director, added: "It's a real coup for our clients to have someone like Tom, he is young, dedicated to creating great work and a great guy to have around. I am very proud of Tom's achievements and am sure it wont be the last time his work is celebrated.”
